The Insanity Workout

I was flipping channels one day recently when I came across an infomercial for The Insanity Workout by Shaun T. I remembered seeing Shaun T about a year ago, advertising his exercise DVD called Hip Hop Abs.  While Hip Hop Abs never appealed to me, this Insanity workout really peaked my interest.

The different workout routines that I saw in the infomercial looked extremely intense and the success stories and pictures of some of the people who had been doing the Insanity workout, really were unbelievable! He also emphasizes that this workout is not for the weak-minded or lazy.  He does not sugar coat the fact that it is an intense workout that will definitely give you fast results. On his site it says:

"The secret to these mind-blowing results: MAX Interval Training. Shaun T took traditional interval training and flipped it on its head with the Insanity Workout. You perform long bursts of maximum-intensity exercises with short periods of rest. Each workout keeps you constantly challenged as you alternate between aerobic and anaerobic intervals performed at your MAX. The results: burn up to 1,000 calories an hour and get the most insane body in only 60 days."

Since this extremely cold winter here in Atlanta has been keeping me away from my regular exercise routine, I decided to give the Insanity workout a try. I can honestly say that Shaun T. was NOT lying when he said that this was not a routine for someone who was not mentally and physcially ready for a vigorous workout.  I was so fatigued the first day I did the workout and the following day I was extremely sore. The Insanity workout really did make me push my body to the limit!

I intend to stick with it for a while and include it in my weekly workouts. I am not trying to lose weight at all.....just hoping for some toning, especially in my abs! Shorts weather is on its way and I definitely want to be in top bikini shape! I will keep you posted on my results in the next 30 to 60 days.

What does your current workout consist of?

  1. I have seen Insanity and I would love to try it. But for now I am sticking to my regular routine. I need this weight to fall off soon. Even though it is snowing today (again) I know that spring is right around the corner.

  2. My current work out consist of The Transfimer System by The Firm and Slim in 6. I need to pick on and stick with it consistently to see if I get the results that each of them are suppose to produce. I am alternating them in my workout routine right now.

  3. I LOVED his Hip Hop Abs DVD's but know I'm not at all ready for anything that starts with the word "Insanity" LOL. I currently walk in the park, use the EA Active on the Wii as well as Boxing and Dance Dance Revolution on Wii.

  5. Hey! I googled insanity workout b/c I saw the infomercial while I was eating a big juicy burger at The Vortex and I researched it immediately! I think I'm going to purchase it but my fear is that I won't have enough space to do it in! I live in a decent sized house in EAV and I just don't want to pay for it then find out I'm frustrated at the lack of space. Do you know of any groups that do it together?

  6. I don't know of any groups that do it together but, I sure wish I did. Although I don't think you need a whole lot of space to do the workout. I just move the coffee table back a little and it works out fine.

  8. Are you doing Insanity? Curious of the results and wondering if they were real or faked. 60 days to get ripped seems insane. Thanks, Steven
