I am always looking for new ways to change up my workout routine and I have been hearing all of the recent buzz about Bikram or Hot Yoga. I already do yoga, at one point I was taking yoga classes 2 to 3 times a week, and I love how my body feels and looks when I am consistent with it.
Before taking yoga, I had no idea that it was as intense as it is. It requires core muscle strength, balance and flexibility. I would leave yoga class, sweating and aching as if I had been lifting weights. Over time, I have seen great results in my body and I feel different if I do not do a warrior's pose or standing split at least once a week!
After learning more about Bikram yoga or Hot Yoga, I found that it is a series of yoga poses done in a heated room. The room is usually maintained at a temperature of 95-100 degrees. As you can imagine, a vigorous yoga session at this temperature promotes profuse sweating which rids the body of toxins. It also makes the body very warm, and therefore more flexible.
I will definitely be incorporating Hot Yoga into my workout regimen in the near future. I will be sure to post my experience!
