With the ever-increasing amount of toxins in our air, water and even our food, it is becoming more important to detox our bodies every once in a while. Unexplained fatigue, skin problems, aches and pains, constipation, inability to lose weight and mental confusion may all be signs that your body is telling you is time for a detox.
There are various options available when you are trying to decide on what method to use. The most popular ones include:
1. Colon cleansing or colonics-- using natural ingredients such as herbs to remove trapped wastes from the digestive system and colon.
2. Fasting-- when you abstain from eating food for a period of time, usually 2 to 5 days. During this time, you would drink water or juice only.
3. Detox tea-- a tea made from natural herbs and antioxidants that filter the organs, specifically the kidneys and liver. This is my personal favorite because it is not very harsh and I can drink the tea 2 to 3 times a week.
4. Exercise-- getting your heart rate up, blood circulating and producing a sweat is a good way to release toxins from your body also.
When deciding on doing a detox, make sure you do all of your research and consult a physician first if you have any existing medical conditions. Also, remember to replenish your body continuously with fluids during and after a detox so that you do not become dehydrated. Try a detox today to give your body the jump start it needs!
