Step Outside the Pillbox
More and more people are going to holistic medicine and techniques to ease ailments and diseases. Many of us have become so used to getting a prescription for every ache and pain that we have forgotten what used to work back in the day. Here are a few all-natural remedies that are very effective:
1. That nagging headache is most likely stress-related. Instead of popping an aspirin, try meditating and rubbing a little lavender oil on your temples.
2. For an upset stomach, make some fresh ginger tea.
3. For the PMS cramps and bloating that can come right before that dreaded monthly visitor, drink a cup of chamomile tea. Also, sex can help relieve these symptoms too. An orgasm helps to relax the uterine muscles and releases endorphins, which are natural pain relievers.
4. If you are feeling tense or just out of whack, try aromatherapy. Alcohol, stress and caffeine can alter your body's normal state. Lay down with your eyes closed in a quiet, dark room. Light some scented candles and rub essential oils on your skin.
