If you watched the Miss Universe pageant last night, or even if you didn't, you may have heard about the question that was posed to Miss Philippines:
What is one big mistake that you have made in your life and what did you do to make it right?”
Her answer was that she has no regrets. She also said" “ I have not done anything major, major, I mean problem, that I have done in my life.” Some people thought that she could have answered better--and more honestly.
I thought that this was a very hard question only because most things that people consider as mistakes or regrets in their lives, are way too personal to be told on national television. It made me think of what my answer would have been and I honestly do not know what I would have said. The few "mistakes" that jump out in my mind are too private for me to tell....even in this blog post.
I do not believe in viewing certain choices as mistakes or having regrets. In my opinion, it does not allow for true progression. There are things in my life that if I could go back and do differently I would, but that's only because I went through it. Even in those situations some good came out of them and I walked away each time with some wisdom. Trust me, that does not mean that these situations have been easy. The anxiety, uncertainty, hurt, disappointment, anger, hurt and tears are no fun! But hey, you live and you learn.
Do you think you could have answered this question? Is there one big mistake you feel that you have made in your life?
